For Our New Patients

We welcome new patients with an oral exam, in which the dentist will make a comprehensive evaluation of your dental health and medical history. Prospective patients can expect a full assessment of their teeth, joint muscles, and chewing muscles. During this time, the health and range of motion of your temporomandibular joint will be examined.

Following this initial assessment of your facial and cheek muscles, the dentist will conduct an in-depth visual cancer screening with the help of the Velscope® Vx Enhanced Oral Assessment System. A full panoramic x-ray will also be taken of your teeth and gums.

Other assessments include an examination of your periodontal structures, such as the bones and gums, as well as tooth functions and occlusions.  Photos are taken of your teeth, especially areas that require further investigation or cosmetic correction. This normally takes an hour and twenty minutes, but incurs no extra costs. With a proper treatment plan, however, patients can save money in the long-run.

Only occasionally will it be helpful to take study models, but there will be a charge to cover the laboratory expense for this important diagnostic aid.

All this is done in order for us to get to know you and your dental health, and assess what needs to be corrected or treated.

Your dental health is important to us. We strive to build long-lasting relationships with our patients by providing the best health care possible, as well as the most successful and efficient dental treatments.
